The FCSS Scripps Spelling Bee, in conjunction with the 30th Fresno County Superintendent of Schools Spell Off, will be held at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

Event Day Information

Elementary Registration: 8:15 am

Elementary School Competition: 9:00 am

Junior High Registration: 12:15 pm

Junior High Competition: 1:00 pm

Scripps Qualifying Competition: 3:30 pm

DISTRICT COORDINATORS

This competition is for Fresno County students in grades 4-8. All Fresno County schools that participate in the County Spell Off will automatically be registered with the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Intent to Participate forms with each school listed due by Friday, September 29, 2023. 

Student Registration forms and Payment of $80 per participant due by Friday, February 9, 2024.

Parent Waivers due by Friday, March 1, 2024.

The FCSS Spell Off is a regional qualifier for the overall Champion Speller to enter the Scripps National Spelling Bee. In addition to sending our top two elementary and top two junior high spellers in Fresno County to the State spelling competition, the single overall Fresno County Champion Speller will represent Fresno County at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Maryland in June 2024.
